About Umbraco
Umbraco is a fully open-source Microsoft .NET-based content management system (CMS). It provides a friendly editing experience for users, while allowing developers to take advantage of the ASP.NET framework from Microsoft.
This means it allows developers to create user experiences that make it easy for non-technical users to create content that's fully responsive and accessible without having to know web development themselves.
It features a flexible development model, allowing developers to specify the shape of content data up front, and is extensible by design; developers can extend the back office in a number of ways (for example, I have built a resource and service booking client called UBookIt that's open source and can be installed into any Umbraco 17 or 18 website).
I have considerable experience in working with Umbraco. I have worked with Umbraco Gold and Platinum partners to deliver migrations from both external systems and earlier Umbraco versions (from 7 to 18).
In addition to UBookIt - which is a fully featured resource and service booking application - I have built Umbraco packages for the back office from v7 - v18, as well as building a number of Umbraco sites from scratch and maintaining a wide range of sites (most of which I can't name due to client confidentiality, but I did build this one as well as www.tidecrm.com).
If you need help with an Umbraco site, or you're an Umbraco partner looking for extra resource that doesn't already work with me, feel free to contact me.
Upgrades and Migrations
Umbraco 13 is End of Life in December 2026 - see the Upgrades and Migrations page for how I can help you stay on a supported version.
Package Development
Umbraco allows the creation of packages which can change how the back office works or add functionality.
This allows developers to build entire applications in Umbraco's back office, and to extend functionality by implementing these packages. Many of these packages are open source and can be used free of charge (e.g. uSync is one of the most useful of these, allowing simple transfer of settings, content and other items from one copy of an Umbraco site to another).
I have considerable experience in creating, maintaining and updating these packages; after the recent change in the Umbraco back office from AngularJS to Web Components, I migrated several sites with custom dashboards and packages to version 17 from version 13, and I have created my own UBookIt package.
